Crispy Prata@ Casuarina House
Found an excellent place to have prata (or roti canai as Malaysian's called it). This is located at Thomson road near Yio Chiu Kang road. The place opens quite early in the morning to cater to the cyclist and runners who take their morning exercise at the nearby reservoir. I tried the prata with egg, onion, red chili and garlic! It was yummy! Finally a good place for prata that's almost as good as the ones in Malaysia (have been subjected to lousy prata - the ones you can get at Ah Mei's cafe)
Breakfast at Wild Honey!
@Mandarin Gallery, Orchard
After 5 times trying to go to this place, we finally got a seat! And it was in the evening 2 it was much easier to get a seat, as you can forget bout it if you do it in the morning! This place serves mainly breakfast menus and they sure have a lot of variety to offer! I tried the Tunisian - a tomato stew with 2 runny eggs with chorizo! It comes with 2 slices of brioche which was super fluffy and yummy! My wife tried the full English breakfast and goodness it was really full - scrambled eggs, sausages, mushroom, bacon, brioche! Should also try the coffee here which is equally strong!
Getting here: take MRT and exit eier at Orchard or Somerset. Walk towards Meritus Mandarin hotel. It's located inside the shopping arcade within Mandarin, on the 2nd floor!

Chocolate at Max Brenner Cafe
@Esplanade Mall
If you're looking for a chocolate boost, this is the place to be. They serve everything from chocolate drinks, desserts and even melted chocolate for you to sip from! What's really good here are their Sucktao (you literally suck melted chocolate slowly melted in a aromatherapy type of apparatus), brownies with ice cream and hot chocolate. You get to also choose from either milk chocolate or dark chocolate. Good to share as it can be really sinful!!
Getting there: Go to Esplanade Mall, it's at the gerund floor. Open till 1am on Fridays!

Satay at Alhambra Satay
@Gluttons Bay, Esplanade
After a bad satay experience at East coast Lagoon village, we went back to a place where we knew that the Satay would not dissapoint us. This was at the Makansutra Gluttons Bay, Esplanade. There is only one satay stall here - Alhambra. They serve chicken, beef and lamb. The meats are marinated well as you can taste the flavor when you bite into it. As in most Singapore satay, it's also lean!
Getting there: Get to Esplanade. It's at an open area just next to the Splanade Theater.

Indonesian food at Cumi Bali
@Tanjong Pagar
This restaurant is tucked on a row of shophouses at Tanjong Pagar (near the Maxwell Food Court). It's a small yet cosy family run Indonesian restaurant. We ordered Cumi Bali (squid), ikan bakar (baked fish) and ayam goreng (fried chicken). The star dish was basically the squid - the gravy was lovely, sweet, bit spicy, peanuty! The fish was also interesting, baked in banana leaf and with generous serving of gravy (i think there was lemongrass, ginger, etc). Worth trying!

Chicken spaghetti at TOTT
@Dunearn Road
This is a newly open outlet where you can find almost everything related to cooking under one roof! Called TOTT (trade of tools), it's located on Dunearn Road. Went to check out this place and it has a simple yet delicious bistro. Tried the chicken spaghetti, mushroom soup and poached salmon. The best thing about this place is (as compared to Ikea), they actually cook it in front of you so it's really fresh! Try as well the durian fritter! sinful!

Healthy soba noodles at Shimbashi Soba
@Paragon
Here's a nice place to have healthy noodles Japanese style. Me and my wife love the food as it's simple yet delicious. Must try are it's noodles - soba - where you can have it either chilled or in a warm soup. My favorite is the one where it comes with duck meat - totally yummy. If you take the chilled version, it comes with a dipping sauce and post finishing your meal, they'll provide you with the water which they use to cook the noodles. Add a bit of the dipping sauce and it becomes a soup - in fact a very healthy soup known for its health benefits.
Getting there :- take MRT to orchard road and walk towards Paragon shopping mall (opposite Ngee Ann city). Restaurant is located at the basement.
Yumminess rating: 5/5

Pork chops at Culina
@ Dempsey Hill
Located at the food/hangout area at Dempsey Hill, this restaurant cum grocery store has some unique offerings. Unfortunately the food does not spark your tastebuds despite the numerous expensive ingredients sold at the restaurant. Tried tue escargots which as dissapointing as you could not taste the garlic butter. The pork chop was ok but a bit overcooked!

Parma ham and mozzarella paninni at Cova
@Paragon
Hidden at a corner of the 1st floor at Paragon, this pattiseri serves nice Italian sandwiches or paninni. Tried the Parma ham with buffalo mozzarella topped with pesto. The paninni was quite a big serving and will be good to share if you're not too hungry. Also tried the cakes which looks really pretty and not too sweet! Coffee is ok but not strong enough.

Poached egg brioche at Halia Restaurant
@ Singapore Botanical Gardens
Found this gem right in the singapore botanical gardens. It opens at 10am and has a superb serene surrounding. Totally a must for couples on a date but also perfect for a family! The menu is a bit on the pricey side but it's worth every dollar once you tried the food. Halia has a lot of variety to offer from brunch to lunch to even dinner. I tried the brunch items which is the toasted brioche, with poach eggs, mushroom, crispy bacon and baby spinach! Totally delicious. Post that even try the dessert - which was a brownie with ice cream!
Getting there: Get to Singapore botanical gardens, park outside just at the entrance and walk in. It's located just next to the Orchid Garden.
