This is from Malaysia but the menu are slightly different. Has a lot of interesting deserts which are similar in Hong Kong. I tried the red bean soup with grass jelly topped with vanilla ice cream. Pretty good!

Braised beef noodle at Food Banquet

Found this nice stall at the food court upstairs at Somerset 313. This was like a traditional chinese noodle where you see the cook shave noodles from a pastry with a unique knife. Pretty good i must say!

Getting there: Take MRT to Somerset and go upstairs to the 4th or 5th floor.

Coffee at Marmalade Pantry

Went looking for a nice place to have a break and found this nice place. Quite packed in the weekends so be prepared to wait a bit. Tried the cappucino which was not bad! the lemon meringue sponge cake was really good!

Getting there: Take a MRT to Orchard and exit into Ion Orchard. Go to the 3rd floor.

Teochew porridge at Xu Jun Sheng

Found this gem at Joo Chiat place named Xu Jun Sheng. Sells really good selection of Teochew porridge. Highly recommended are the lor bak (braised pork belly), steamed fish with salted vegetable and hae jor (fried prawn fritters). Have the porridge and eat it with the sauce! I had 2 bowls!! Get there early to avoid the crowd

Fried chicken at Astons

Discovered this gem nearby home. Was recommended by a friend and when i tried it - it was simply delicious! The queue was really long and the price was just S$5.90! For a chicken chop, with loads of fries and heaps of coleslaw! Even tried the black pepper chicken and it was equally good.

Fish Head Curry Muthu's

Had a craving for fish head curry and decided to try this famous outlet. It's a restaurant called Muthu's curry. Just had the fish head curry and that was really nice! Order the briyani rice to go with it!

Getting there: Take a MRT to Suntec City and it's at the basement next to the fountain where all the restaurants are.
